Heavy air, mild temperatures and a light south-east breeze greeted 39 riders at the start line; all but one finished. Geoff Shewfelt had a failure of his seat post, and, not wanting to stand for the whole 40km, did not start. Fastest was Michael Nash (Ride With Rendall) with a time of 53:06 - 22 seconds off his best time of 52:44 which was set on 2007-Aug-12. Fastest from ABC was Les Humphreys in a time of 68:44, his first 40km time trial since his run-in with a car last September. Fastest lady was Sara Domina (OBC) in a time of 64:14 ; fastest lady from ABC was Celia McInnis in a time of 74:01. Eight cyclists from Ride With Rendall were in the fastest ten riders. It may have been slow on the way out - uphill and into the wind - but most reported enjoying the speed of the return. Of the 28 who had ridden an earlier 2009 ATT 40km TT, 11 improved upon or equaled their previous season/series best, while eight bettered on or tied their previous best on this course. The most improved of these were Hermann Kerckhoff, who was just out for an easy tour last time, and Sara Domina, who arrived at the start line on time this time!

The last ABC 40k TT takes place on Sun., September 13; meet at the Calabogie Boat Launch parking lot before 07:45.

Meanwhile, in light of the latest threats issued to me for running this time trial web site, it will be interesting to see if these results are sucked from it into the OBC TT database...
